ABOUT ALL 4 DACHSHUNDS

Our Mission

Our mission is to find loving, forever homes for displaced dachshunds.
Everything we do is guided by the best interests, welfare and long-term wellbeing of the dachshunds in our care.

We are a small, registered not-for-profit charity committed to ethical, responsible rehoming. Wherever possible, we rehome dogs at close to cost and work collaboratively with other rescue organisations and larger charities when a placement may be better suited to their resources.

About Us

🐾 Tail wags & licks — we are All 4 Dachshunds.

All 4 Dachshunds is a small, breed-specific, registered not-for-profit charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of displaced dachshunds across Australia.

Since commencing operations in 2022, we have experienced consistent growth in both the number and complexity of dogs entering our care. Our early years saw a rapid increase in rehomings, alongside a growing need to support dachshunds with significant medical and behavioural challenges.

Our Impact

Over the past several years, All 4 Dachshunds has :

  • Rehomed dozens of dachshunds annually into safe, loving homes

  • Supported dachshunds requiring behavioural rehabilitation, including structured training programs with qualified professionals

  • Taken in special-needs dachshunds requiring surgery, long-term veterinary care and rehabilitation for conditions such as:

    • IVDD

    • Megaesophagus

    • Epilepsy

    • Inherited conditions including double dapple complications

At any given time, we support a combination of dachshunds who are :

  • In foster care

  • Awaiting or recovering from surgery

  • Undertaking behavioural modification programs

  • Preparing for adoption

The cost of veterinary and behavioural care continues to rise significantly each year, representing one of our largest ongoing financial pressures.

How We Are Funded

All 4 Dachshunds :

  • Receives no government funding

  • Operates with a small and limited fundraising footprint

  • Relies entirely on:

    • Community donations

    • Adoption fees

    • Merchandise sales

    • Raffles and fundraising campaigns

    • Community events and partnerships

Every dollar raised goes directly toward the care, rehabilitation and rehoming of dachshunds in need.

Our People

All 4 Dachshunds is led by a small, dedicated team of experienced rescue advocates with decades of combined experience in animal welfare and breed-specific rescue.

Between them, the team has cared for and lived alongside many dachshunds, the majority of whom are rescues or rehomes. This hands-on experience provides a deep understanding of the breed’s unique physical, medical and behavioural needs, and informs every decision made in the best interests of the dogs in our care.

The team has witnessed both the challenges and the rewards of rescue — from complex medical recoveries and behavioural rehabilitation to the joy of seeing a dachshund settle into a safe, loving forever home. This lived experience underpins the organisation’s compassionate, ethical and welfare-first approach.

Urgent Temporary Care Program

SOS is a support program run by All 4 Dachshunds, created to help minimise the need for surrender or permanent rehoming.

Are you experiencing housing instability, displacement, or difficulty securing long-term accommodation?
Are you elderly, living with a disability, or facing a medical or personal emergency that is temporarily impacting your ability to care for your dachshund?

If so, we encourage you to reach out to SOS.

Through SOS, we can connect you with our experienced network of dachshund-savvy foster carers across most states. These carers are ready to open their homes — and their hearts — to provide safe, loving, short-term care for your hound while you navigate life’s challenges.

Our goal is simple: to support you and your dachshund during difficult times, and to help keep families together wherever possible 🐾💙
